Doncaster Frenchgate Interchange, is a £250 million shopping centre and transport interchange which opened in June 2006. Designed by Carey Jones for Scarborough Developments in partnership with Doncaster Council and South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive.
New parking spaces for shoppers and 500 parking spaces for rail users alongside a state of the art bus and coach facility with 30 stands. As an integral part of the regeneration of Doncaster town centre the scheme was designed to be both striking and functional. Primarily constructed from steel the most dramatic element to the scheme is the great curved wall that overlooks the railway line. Doncaster Frenchgate Interchange is an exciting modern development that complements Doncaster's heritage yet provides 21st century facilities. Doncaster Frenchgate Interchange will become a landmark retail destination for Yorkshire offering excellent transport links to the rest of the UK. |
